The spirit of patriotism, discipline, and excellence was on full display as Agassi Memorial School proudly participated in the 69th Independence Day Celebration March Past. Our students represented the school in three categories — Primary, Junior High School (JHS), and Cadet Corps — and once again demonstrated the strength of character and training that defines the Agassi experience.

In the Junior High School category, Agassi Memorial School secured an impressive third place, competing among several schools within the municipality. The school also earned second place in the Cadet category, a remarkable achievement considering that cadet groups from both JHS and Senior High Schools participated in the competition.

Our Cadet Corps has built a strong reputation over the years. Since 2019, when Agassi first introduced its cadet team to the Independence Day march past, the school has consistently returned with an award every single year. In that debut appearance, our cadets made a strong impression by placing second.

In the years that followed, Agassi made history by introducing the first-ever Female Police Cadet team in the competition when the celebrations resumed. Their participation was widely celebrated, and they quickly proved their excellence on the parade ground. The female cadets placed second in their first appearance, before going on to achieve first place in two consecutive competitions.

At one point, some observers attributed their victories to the beauty and appeal of their uniform. This year, however, Agassi cadets demonstrated that their success goes far beyond appearance. In a show of unity and strength, the Female Police Cadets and the Military Cadets combined forces, representing the school together in military uniform. Their disciplined coordination and confident display earned them second place in this year’s contest.

Perhaps even more remarkable was the admiration they received from spectators. As they marched alongside Senior High School cadets, Agassi students drew loud cheers from the crowd, many praising their composure, confidence, and precision.

Moments like these remind us that beyond academics, Agassi Memorial School continues to nurture discipline, leadership, patriotism, and courage in its students. The recognition we received at this year’s Independence Day celebration reflects the commitment of our students, trainers, and the entire school community.

As the awards are presented to the school community, we celebrate not just the trophies, but the values that guide our students to stand tall, march proudly, and represent Agassi with honour wherever they go.
